Harry David Houser Sr., 61, of Williamstown, formerly of Lowell, passed away Tuesday (July 9, 2013) at home surrounded by his family.
He was born July 15, 1951, in Marietta, son of the late Harry G. Houser and Millie Houser of Williamstown. He was a graduate of Marietta High School, Class of 1971. He owned and operated Houser Insurance Agency for over 25 years and most recently was in construction sales with Shamrock Contracting. He was one of the founding members and executive director of Muskingum Valley Area Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Sixth and Washington Street Church of Christ in Marietta. He loved classic and antique cars and was happiest driving his old truck with his dog Harley.
On June 3, 1972, he married Connie (Dawson) Houser who survives with two sons, David (Mendy) Houser of Williamstown and grandson Eli Houser, and Justin (Tracy) Houser of Columbus and grandchildren, Sydney and Mason Houser. He is also survived by his mother, Millie Houser of Williamstown; a sister, Cheryl (Steve) Fisher of Bloomington, Indiana; three brothers, John (Carla) Houser of Harrisville, W.Va., Jay Houser of Williamstown and Charlie (Lori) Houser of Kent, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his father and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday (July 12) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home in Marietta. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (July 13) at the Sixth and Washington St. Church of Christ in Marietta with Evangelist Roger Rush officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown. McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly handled the arrangements.
