A Williamstown Bridge pier that had been slated for renovation instead of replacement is unstable on the Ohio River bottom. The West Virginia highway department officials will decide whether it makes more sense to repair or replace the pier. Replacing the pier could mean a cost increase of around $500,000.
The Washington County chapter of the Ohio Association for Children and Adults with Learning Disabilities will now be able to help children and parents of children with learning disabilities.

The Nelson & Merydith company submitted figures for the construction of the bridge. The company was the only bidder and six plans were submitted.
A petition has been circulated by a Cleveland man for the submission to the people of a constitutional amendment providing for a smaller membership in the Ohio general assembly. This would mean that ever county, no matter how small, would have a representative in the general assembly.
