Ohio and West Virginia law enforcement agencies staged a massive search with a helicopter, fleet of cruisers and tracking dogs to recapture Fred Bell, a man serving time for drunk driving, after he walked away from a work release program.

W. J. Sherman, head of the Sherman Engineering Company of Toledo, will make a thorough preliminary survey of Marietta and vicinity to devise a plan for the betterment of the "physical condition" of the city.
Additional funds for the compensation of deputy clerks in the probate court were allowed in the court of common pleas. The sum of $68.57 was made available in addition to the regular amount allowed by the commissioners. The estimated amount needed to pay the deputy clerks is $1,508.00, while the amount allowed is $1,439.43.
