Crosswalk work on Front Street to start
Both southbound lanes in the 100 and 200 block of Front Street are scheduled for closure to all traffic beginning Monday for the installation of stamped brick concrete crosswalks. Work is expected to last five days. Two-way traffic in the northbound lanes will be maintained. Once the work in the southbound lanes is complete, the northbound lanes will be closed beginning Aug. 5 for an additional five days.

Ice cream social planned for Marr
An ice cream social will start at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Bethel Community Center in Marr. There will be ice cream, banana splits, hot dogs, burgers, coney dogs and sloppy joes along with a country store and games for children.
Road closure for culvert replacement
Huck Road (County Road 79) will be closed between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday for replacement of a large culvert, weather permitting. The site is near the 5.5 mile marker about 1/2 mile from Lowell Hill Road.

Williamstown legion holding yard sale
The Williamstown American Legion Auxiliary Post 159 will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 10. Tables can be rented for $10 for one and $5 for a second table. Those who sell items keep their profits. Setup is after 7 pm. Aug. 9 or at 7 a.m. Aug. 10. There will be food sales on site.

57th Marietta Day Celebration planned
The 57th annual Marietta Day Celebration will be held Saturday and Sunday. There will be a skating party at the Marietta roller rink from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday with free pizza and a dinner at Masonic Park Sunday. The park opens at 11 a.m. with food served at 1 p.m. There will be chicken, ham, hot dogs and table service provided. Water will also be provided. Those attending should bring a covered dish or dessert to share. There will be games, giveaways, a silent auction, karaoke and raffles.
Warren Local enrollment changes
Enrollment of students in the Warren Local school district will be done at the administration office at 220 Sweetapple Road in Vincent beginning Aug. 1.
Incoming Superintendent Kyle Newton said the change from enrollment at individual school buildings will allow the district to eliminate inconsistencies in student data.
