Paul D. Lent, 69, of Marietta, went home to be with our Lord and Saviour at 2:19 a.m. on Sunday (Aug. 4, 2013) at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born on May 21, 1944, in Lower Salem, a son of James and Elsie Moore Lent. He had been employed in the shipping department of Kardex until his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany, and was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Weaver Lent, whom he married on April 2, 2009. He is also survived by one son, two daughters and one stepdaughter, Michelle (Rick) Vajdich of Marietta, Derrick (Rachel) Lent of Little Hocking, Paula (Jamey) Styer of Marietta, Kristina (Randy) Hendershot of Marietta; five grandchildren, Haylee Vajdich, Devin, Damien and Alexis Lent, Johnathan Styer; three stepgrandchildren, Clarissa Hendershot, Rebecca Hendershot and Bishop Nunn. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, James J. Lent, Herbert (Lorraine) Lent, Naomi Okey, Carol (Gary) Blair.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Robert, Kenneth and Lloyd; four sisters, Eloise Miller, Eileen Allen, Donna Camp, Maxine Wilson.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday (Aug. 8) at 2 p.m. at Open Door Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Page officiating. Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home after 2 p.m. on Tuesday and on Wednesday with family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
