Alma Adams Fulmer Wetherholt

Alma Adams Fulmer Wetherholt, 95, of Marietta. passed away Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at Hannah's House in Marietta. She was born on July 18, 1918, in Ashland County, Ohio to the late Henry and Ethel Cunningham Rinard Adams.

Alma and her husband owned and operated the Wingett Run General Store from 1941-1947 then the Norwood Grocery. She then went to work as a secretary for the late Carl and Robert Broughton then former Marietta Mayor George Cranston. Alma also worked as a teller for Citizens Bank. She was a member of the 6th and Washington Streets Church of Christ, Order of Eastern Star #59, Rebecca Lodge, Republican Womens Club, Stepping Stones of Ohio Valley College, A.A.R.P. Alma also loved to sing and dance as well as play cards.

She is survived by her brothers Edward G. Adams (Mary) of Lakeland, Fla., and Gary S. Adams (Ruth) of San Antonio, Texas; children, R. Steven Fulmer (Judy) of Marietta, Nancy Burton (Bob) of Marietta, and Roger Fulmer (June) of Hendersonville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Stan Fulmer of Marietta, Shelley Porche of Couer d' Alene, Idaho, Stefne Wene of Newburgh, Ind., Jeff Burton (Tammy), Jennifer Eastes (Randy) all of Marietta, Sherry Knowles (Craig) of Springfield, Tenn., Ellie White (Clint) of Roanoke, Va. and Holli Jenkins (Josh) of Marietta; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; step-children, Martha Sue Binder (Mike) of Washington D.C., Carl Wetherholt (Libby) of Columbus, Ohio and Jon Wetherholt (Kathy) of Hazel Green, Ala.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by Robert H. Fulmer and husband, Frank Wetherholt; sister, Jean Fenton; and a daughter in law, Sandra J. Fulmer.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St. with Roger Rush officiating. Burial to follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday as well as an hour prior to the service on Thursday.
