Wolf Creek board meets Monday
The Wolf Creek Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting Monday immediately following the employee/retiree breakfast. The approximate time of the meeting will be 9 a.m. in the Waterford Elementary principal's office.
at refuge Aug. 27
A "Fall Native Wildflower Walk" will be held at the Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge at 7 p.m. Aug. 27. The walk will depart from the refuge visitor center, located at 3982 Waverly Road in Williamstown. This walk will follow the refuge trails while participants learn how to identify native wildflowers. Master Naturalist Emily Grafton will lead the walk.

Board of Elections office closed today
The Washington County Board of Elections will be closed today so the staff may attend a Secretary of State training seminar in Athens.
Bridge beam repairs on 339 complete
Repairs to fix the bridge beam on the U.S. 50-Ohio 339 overpass are now complete and Ohio 339 is open to traffic.
Frontier pep rally, meet-the-team night
A Meet the Team Night Pep Rally will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the Frontier High School/Middle School Cougar Field. Football and cheerleading teams and coaches will be introduced from kindergarten to 12th grade as well as Frontier Middle School and high school volleyball teams and coaches. In the event of rain, the pep rally will be held in the gymnasium.
Following the pep rally, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. will be the first Cougar Swim at the Matamoras Swimming Pool. Admission for the pool party is $5 per person.

Spaghetti dinner fundraiser Aug. 23
A spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 23 at the American Legion in Williamstown to help send Thad Duvall to race the International Six Days of Enduro in Italy. The cost is $7 a plate. The meal will also include salad, bread and dessert. There will also be a 50/50, country store and International Six Days of Enduro T-shirts for sale.
