- The Fort Frye Teachers Association filed for an injunction against the reassignment of two teachers and the transfer of a third. The complaint claims the reassignments and transfer are not valid because they are not being made by Washington County Superintendent Barton Cromer. The Ohio Revised Code says that the county superintendent should direct and assign teachers for local school districts.
- Despite spending more than $9,000 last year for an analysis of Marietta's concrete streets, nothing has been done to fix the aging residential roadways in the city.

- The Williard W.C.T.U. of Norwood will meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. with Mrs. Lauer. The topic will be Christian Citizenship. A special musical program has been prepared. Each member is expected to be present.
- Katie Stanley of Lowell left Tuesday for Dayton. She will attend the convention of third- and fourth-class postmasters, who will be in session Aug. 20 and 21.
