Another segment of extracurricular activities in Marietta City Schools may be saved Monday, Aug. 22, when 17 supplemental contracts for academic activities come before the Marietta Board of Education.
The city hired the Ohio Drilling Co. Inc. of Massillon to pinpoint the contamination source of a Marietta water well. The industrial cleaning solvent, tetrachloroethylene, was discovered in one of the six city water wells two years ago. After an $80,000 investigation, Water and Wastewater Director Ralph Mohr said the search for the source of the leak may not be over.

The Williamstown bakery, which has been conducted for some months by Claude Bush, was purchased by James Bradford. In addition to the regular line of baked goods, the bakery will carry an up-to-date line of groceries, tobacco and cigars. Claude Bush will remain as the baker.
After Aviator Morris Priest, of Dayton, raised his airplane to about 200 feet in the air it suddenly dashed to the ground and went into the upper lake at City Park in Parkersburg. Priest's nose received a bad cut from a wire on the plane.
