Sweet Corn Festival a success despite weather

August 24, 2013
The Marietta Times

The sixth annual Marietta Sweet Corn Festival recorded a nice crowd despite a rainy first night and an afternoon downpour on Saturday. With much cooperation, we are able to provide this event at no charge to the public as we met our goal to provide college scholarships to graduating seniors entering the field of agriculture. In addition, we also helped with the installation of two electrical fixtures at the south end of Muskingum Park. Chairperson, Jessie Bigley, and the Sweet Corn Festival Committee express their gratitude for the efforts of our volunteers as well as sponsors and people who made donations that made the festival a success.
