Entries and exhibits are pouring in to the Washington County Fairgrounds at a record-breaking rate and will make this year's fair the biggest in history. Among the attractions are a mid-way rodeo and the international auto thrill show. Mace Carpenter, aged 77, invites all oil drillers to take a turn at his drilling machine, which he patented in 1925 and will exhibit in the machinery area.
100 years ago
Frank E. McGrew has brought suit in common pleas court against Samuel Boyles and the First National Bank of New Matamoras over an oil lease. Alleging that Boyles refused to pay his part of the operating costs, McGrew asks that the lease and equipment be sold and the partnership settled.
