Mary Margaret Welch, 87, of the Glenwood Retirement Community in Marietta, passed away Saturday (Sept. 7, 2013) at Glenwood.
She was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Belpre, a daughter of the late Edgar Oliver and Estella Covey Jordan.
She was a 1943 graduate of Belpre High School and retired as a branch manager of the Bond Consultant Office with the Bureau of Public Debt. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Parkersburg and Chapter L of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
Mary is survived by a stepdaughter, Nancy Bryson of Attalla, Ala.; a stepson, David E. Welch of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three nieces, Catherine E. Mace and Dwayne of Little Hocking, Margaret Ann Boyer and David of Fleming, Carolyn Warden and Bob of Nashville, Tenn.; two nephews, Robert Jordan and Laura of Cutler and Donald Jordan and Darlene of Athens; great-nieces, Elizabeth Ann Morris, Jessica Hanger; great-nephews, Jason Jordan, Bradford Boyer; one great-great-niece; one great-great-nephew; and sister-in-law, Betty Jordan of Cutler
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George L. Friend; second husband, Carlton E. Welch; and a brother, Edgar Earl Jordan.
Mary's family wishes to thank her caregivers Candi Parsons, Mary Ann Moyer and Amedisys Home Health and Hospice for all their care and attention to Mary's needs.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Glenwood Retirement Community with the Rev. Michael Seely officiating.
