Church presents program on bullying
First Presbyterian Church, Fourth and Wooster streets, Marietta, will offer a two-part program about bullying.
Excerpts of the documentary "Bully" will be shown in the Fellowship Hall at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 25. At 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2 there will be a panel discussion with educators and counselors discussing what bullying actually is, how much of a problem it is locally, and what is being done/can be done to help students deal with bullying. All are welcome to come.

Society to meet
The Washington County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Washington County Public Library basement meeting room, 615 Fifth St., Marietta. The speaker will be Ernest Thode and his subject will be a discussion of singer Kelly Clarkson's research into her ancestor Isaiah Rose of Marietta and Coal Run. Visitors are always welcome.

The Frontier Board of Education will hold its September board of education meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in the Frontier High School Library.
Band Bucks cards on sale for $10
The 2014 Band Bucks Card is on sale for $10 each. The card offers year-round discounts at more than 50 local businesses. All proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the Marietta Middle and High school band programs. Cards may be purchased from any band member, band booster, or by calling Jill Torbett at 373-3228.
Free legal clinic
6-8 p.m. Wednesday
The Washington County Bar Association and Southeastern Ohio Legal Services will hold a free legal clinic from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 320 Second St., Marietta. Walk-ins are welcome.
The clinic is for Washington County residents unable to afford legal representation (less than 187 percent of the poverty guideline).
