Margaret Fredericks' fifth-grade class at Phillips School produced a brochure, "Historic Tour for Kids," to guide young Marietta visitors around 31 numbered sites. Students researched the sites and created the text and artwork. Funded by Artsbridge, the brochure will be distributed by the Marietta Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Clocks in Marietta and Parkersburg are expected to be an hour different for a week in late September. Marietta adopted daylight savings time last March by an action of city council, and will turn clocks back at 2 a.m. on Sept. 29. The statewide daylight savings time in West Virginia will cause Parkersburg residents to reset their clocks on Sept. 22.

Congressman George White of Marietta announced that patrons of the post office at Hohman, which was recently discontinued, will be supplied with rural delivery service from the New Matamoras post office.
