Warren Local Board of Education approved a $7.8 million general fund budget that school officials say leaves little money to buy maintenance equipment. Not only were equipment funds affected, but $100,000 in personnel costs were cut.

More than $300 in firearms and ammunition were stolen from the Sport and Marine Supply on Greene Street. The loot included seven pistols and revolvers, and one bolt-action shotgun. Entry was gained by removing the pins from hinges on the rear door.

A half interest in the Marietta Brewing Company, which has been owned by members of the Kuehn family, has been sold to Jacob Epple, who already owned a half interest in the plant and business.
