Control System & Instrumentation Consultants, Ltd. (CSI) announced that their principle senior I&C engineer, Doug Huffman, attended the PI North America 2013 General Meeting from Sept. 24 to 26 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The PI North America General Assembly was held at the Scottsdale Marriott at McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale. Presentations began on Sept. 25 at 8 a.m., and ran through the afternoon and the following morning, and concluded on the afternoon of Sept. 26.
Huffman is a renowned PROFIBUS and PROFINET troubleshooter with a thriving consulting business based in Washington County. He has experience in project design and management on major industrial automation and process control for power plants, combustion control, chemical processes and other applications. He has worked on industrial networking projects across the United States, the most recent of which has been the design and installation of the PROFIBUS-DP networks for the largest solar generating facility in the world located in Gila Bend, Ariz. CSI is also completing the NIRC-CIP compliance study for this facility, as well as the cyber security measures mandated by the United States Homeland Security Office.
According to Huffman, "My instrumentation and controls experience is fairly broad, yet I enjoy working on PROFIBUS and PROFINET the most due to their robust design and control capabilities." He continues, "The PI National Meeting is a time to network with my peers from across the globe, learning new techniques, discussing common issues and gathering the type of information that will benefit all of our mutual clients."
Doug has published numerous articles in industry journals and maintains a deep bench of knowledge in the form of ongoing whitepapers and technical articles. He is also a major contributor on numerous LinkedIn discussion groups focused on PROFIBUS and PROFINET troubleshooting.
The PI North America General Assembly Meeting is a time for PROFIBUS and PROFINET professionals to network, share recent innovations, talk to industry leaders and collaborate on issues that arise in PROFIBUS systems throughout the world. Speakers discussed issues including PROFINET Diagnostics and Security, PROFIBUS PA Updates and the use of PROFINET in Oil and Gas applications.
