Josephine "Jo" C. Hesson, 85, of Loudonville, died Monday morning, Sept. 30, 2013, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Jo was born Jan. 3, 1928, in Washington County, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Elmer "Pete" Carl and Anna May (Binegar) Hearn. She was a 1946 graduate of Bloomfield High School where she excelled at sports, especially volleyball. Jo had been a Loudonville resident since 1957. She loved working in her yard, particularly her flower garden, and doted on her pets. On Dec. 6, 1948, she married Virgil Myrl Hesson and he preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 2004.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Robert Mapes of Loudonville; and one sister, Mary Amanda "Babe" Davis of Marietta. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister, Georgia Fern Hearn.
Memorial services will be held Monday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. in Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville with the Rev. Howard Burnett officiating. Interment will be in Loudonville Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, in the funeral home.
