As one of the people responsible for putting The Rock at Marietta High School back in 1968, I'd like to thank Gary's Towing for getting it back where it belongs after it was abducted on Saturday night. Hopefully this was just a high school prank. It took a tow tuck from Don Schafer's dad to get it there and it took another tow truck to get it back where it belongs. The three of us that put it there, Don Schafer, Fred Mankins and Janice (Hill) Carey, never thought it would turn out to be such a center piece for MHS spirit. I'm sure the entire class of 1969 would also like to say thanks as this rock is a legacy that will hopefully be passed down for many more years.
