Tractor, truck, quilt show Saturday
The 16th annual Tractor, Truck, Equipment, and Quilt Show will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Dungannon UM Church.
Fun for the whole family with cider making demonstrations, apple butter stirring, quilting display and demonstration, country store, wagon rides, gospel music, tractor games, and more throughout the day. Chicken dinners with all the trimmings, hot dogs, sloppy joes, and pulled pork sandwiches, desserts, beverages will be available for eat in or carry out. Free admission and parking. All proceeds will benefit the outreach program which in turn benefits area families who have a need. The church is located on Ohio 339 seven miles north or Beverly. Sharing and Caring community lunch
The Singles and Doubles Class of the First Baptist Church continues to offer its Sharing and Caring Free Community Lunch on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church, 301 Fourth St., Marietta. All are invited to this free lunch.
The class also reminds community members of a second monthly free lunch served by the Acacia class on the fourth Saturday of every month at the same time and location.
Washington-Morgan Community Action will be accepting applications for the Secret Santa Program starting Oct. 14. The Secret Santa Program provides Christmas gifts to children of low income families of Washington County. The Secret Santa Program serves ages newborn to age 12.
Washington-Morgan Community Action is located at 218 Putnam St. and is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Applicants must provide proof of income for the last 30 days, proof of Washington County residency, photo ID, birth certificates for all children and Social Security numbers for children and parents in the household. Income eligibility is based on 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Participants cannot be part of other gift giving programs.
Washington-Morgan Community Action is also seeking community support for the Secret Santa Program.

MOVP plans speical presentation
The Mid-Ohio Valley Players Theater will present "A Time to Remember, a life-story theater scripted from actual interviews with people who lived in and around Marietta throughout the 20th century. Vivid recollections date back to the times of one-room school houses, the '37 flood, WW II, river boats, railroads, women's rights, and more.
This reader's theater will be performed by veteran actors, many of whom made up the original cast when produced for the Becky Thatcher almost 20 years ago. The show is one weekend only: Friday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 12 at 8 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 13 at 3 p.m. Cost is $10 seniors and students; $11 adults; and $6 youth to age 16. There will be two for one admission opening night.
Production will feature a slide show of vintage Marietta photos coupled with music from the era. All proceeds go toward the operation and maintenance of the historic Putnam Theater, home of Mid-Ohio Valley Players.
