The issue of continuing free two-hour parking in Marietta's downtown area was discussed by city council. The 18-month trial period for removal of meters began in the summer of 1987, and costs the city about $60,000 per year in revenues.

A long-term labor education program for union officers and members will be held in the evening at Marietta High School. The program will open with a class on labor law and later include such courses as economics, collective bargaining, leadership, and political science.

Fine, large lots, above flooding and on the Inter-Urban car line, are now for sale on easy terms for $300 to $1,000 in a newly opened suburb known as Rathbone Heights Addition. The owners, John M. Doan and Charles D. Mann, are constructing a graveled roadway named Sunset Drive through the addition.
