Robert L. Stark, 69, of Lower Salem, passed away at 10 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 10, 2013) at The Arbors. He was born on Dec. 19, 1943, a son of Virgil and Myrtle Morgenstern Stark. He attended Skyview High School and worked at Patten Brothers from 1966 until his retirement in 1996 at Birmingham Bolt as a material handler and later at Excel. He loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren, and camping, fishing and bingo.
On Aug. 4, 1963, he married Nadine Grose Stark who survives with their three daughters: Anna (Scott) Harrison, Janice Lewis, Sandra (Steve) Harper; three grandchildren, Shannon (Emily) Lewis, Aaron Lewis, Bobby Harper; and two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Avah Grace Lewis. He is also survived by his three brothers, Virgil "Junior", Charles and Barry Stark and sister, Florence Beardmore.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Dean, Bill and Larry and sister, Katherine.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (Oct. 15) at 1 p.m. at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor John Coyle officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday after 2 p.m. with family greeting friends on Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.lankfordfh.com.
