- Washington County commissioners helped solve some of Marietta's financial problems by relinquishing over $10,000 of the county's share of local government money in favor of the city. The action will offset a reduction in Marietta's share of local government funds.

- Several boys and girls, aged 12 to 16, have been entering the Gallemore Ice Cream plant, 307 Putnam Street, at night, eating ice cream and playing poker. During the past two weeks, more than $50 of ice cream has been eaten or destroyed. Two of the culprits were caught and will be brought before the probate judge on delinquency charges.
