Jean E. Wunderlich Augenstein, 88, of Lowell, passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 9, 2013) at Summit Acres Nursing Home.
She was born on July 5, 1925, at Whipple, to Henry W. Wunderlich and Hulda Ridgway Wunderlich. She lived near Lowell all her adult life. She was a graduate of Marietta High School in 1943 and was a homemaker, 4-H leader, and taught Sunday school for 33 years.
On Feb. 20, 1945, she married V. Dale Augenstein who preceded her in death in May of 2008. To this union were born three children, Ronald (Bonnie) Augenstein, Karen (Ray) Crum and Elden (Jennifer) Augenstein. Also surviving are four grandsons, Tracy, Thomas and Nathan Augenstein and Carl Crum; four granddaughters, Angie (Jay) Thomas, Heather (Jason) Oblinger, Mary (Brian) Davis and Amanda Augenstein; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Nathanial Oblinger, Savannah Thomas, Abby and Levi Crum, Emma and Hanna Davis; and several stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, David Wunderlich; and great-granddaughter, Sarah Davis.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (Nov. 13) at 10:30 a.m. at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell.
