Strecker Center thanks firefighters’ for donation

November 11, 2013
The Marietta Times

Marietta Memorial Hospital Strecker Cancer staff would like to thank the Marietta Firefighters Local 442 for donating a check for $1,300 to our emergency patient fund. As many of you know, the firefighters wore pink shirts the entire month of October in support of, and awareness of, breast cancer month. Because the response was so overwhelming, the shirts were sold to the public. The proceeds from the shirts were donated to the Strecker Cancer Center Emergency Fund. This fund is used to assist patients with gas cards, prescriptions, and other expenses they can not afford. This act of kindness will benefit many of our patients, and is another example of how our firefighters support our community. Thank you again!
