Mrs. Jesse Rossiter was awarded a bronze medal and death benefits by the Carnegie Hero Commission for the bravery of her late husband. Mr. Rossiter drowned in the Muskingum River last June in a futile effort to save the life of 14-year-old Milton Hagar, a resident of the Children's Home.
100 years ago
A meeting of teachers, pupils, and parents is planned at Fort School on the West Side. The object is to make the parents acquainted with the teachers and bring about cooperation, as better school work can be accomplished by the students when the parents take an interest.
