Don Moss Cox, 84, born on Aug. 16, 1929 in Marietta to Harvey Halick and Anna (Sprague) Cox. Died Nov. 26, 2013, in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Survived by wife Mary of Daytona Beach, Daughter Kelly (Paul) Faas of Beavercreek, Ohio, Granddaughter's Caitlin Faas of Gettysburg, Pa., Heather (Mathew) Auger of Centerville, Ohio and Avery Faas of Beavercreek, Ohio. Twin brother Dale (Jane) Cox of Whipple, sister-in-law Ruth Cox and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brothers and sisters: Mary Stewart, Robert Cox, Harvey Cox, Violet Ritchie and James Cox.
Don was an Eagle Scout, served in the Ohio National Guard for eight years, long-time member of Carpenters Local #356, past member of Marietta Country Club and Oxbow Golf Club. An avid golfer, Don won numerous local tournaments in Ohio at Oxbow Golf Course, Marietta Country Club, St. Mary's Golf Course and in Florida at the Daytona Beach Golf Club, where he holds the course record. During his lifetime, he scored seven holes-in-one.
A memorial service will be held on December 7th at 11 a.m. at Gilman United Methodist Church, 312 Gilman Ave., with the Rev. Diann O'Bryant officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. in Harmar Cemetery with military honors.
