Mary Virginia Pisegna of St. Joseph, Mich., formerly of Marietta, passed away on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at her home at Lakeland Continuing Care Center in St. Joseph, Mich. She was 91.
Mary, along with her husband, Larrie, moved to Lakeland Continuing Care Center in the spring of 2005. Larrie passed away later that year. Mary's passing has left an enormous void that had been filled with her smiles, laughter, wit and the privilege of caring for her. Mary's family is grateful for the extraordinary people who cared for her professionally with such skill, generosity and love. Everyone at Lakeland Continuing Care Center helped create a special home for her and truly became her extended family.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Camellia, of Berrien Springs, Mich.; son, David (Maureen) of Seattle, Wash.; son, John (Polly) of Marietta; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Following Mary's wishes, her body has been gifted to Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. A special gathering to celebrate Mary's life and thank her many caregivers was held at Lakeland Continuing Care Center. Family may be contacted through Camellia Pisegna, 4712 W.
