Amanda Garrett, of Caldwell High School, was selected as a member of the 1989 Music Education Association's 200-voice All-State Choir. Garrett competed with 800 applicants from across the state.

Leonard Christy, representing Kris-Mar Inc., announced plans for a garden-type apartment complex to be constructed on the north side of Clifton Street, near the Frontier Shopping Center. The name of the development will be Frontier Towne Apartments.

The African Methodist Episcopal Church filed suit through its attorney, C. T. O'Neill, against Thomas M. Fletcher, over a real estate matter.
Fletcher made a contract with the church, agreeing to sell Lot 22 of the Lyman W. Phillips' subdivision, but now refuses.
