Night of Giving will be Tuesday at MMH
The Memorial Health System's Annual Night of Giving will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the first floor conference room at Marietta Memorial Hospital. Refreshments and door prizes will be provided. Walk-ins are welcome or schedule an appointment with the blood bank by calling 374-1432, Ext. 127.
Trillium piano trio plans Song & Dance
The Holiday Salon Series Trillium Piano Trio will present "Song & Dance" from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at The Castle in Marietta. The trio will play music from Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Debussy and Dvorak. For reservations call 373-4180. Individual tickets for one concert are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Conversations about the composers and their music as well as refreshments are included.
Special meeting for Watertown Township
Watertown Township will hold a special meeting at 9 a.m. Dec. 31 at the township building to conduct year end business. All bills must be turned into the clerk's office by Dec. 20. The 2014 organizational meeting will immediately follow the year end business meeting.
Chess classes for beginners offered
Beginners chess classes are being offered from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays in the meeting room of the Washington County Public Library in Marietta. The cost is $25 per month and includes an introduction to the game, including basic checkmating patterns, tactics, end games, and openings; a first hour of lecture and a second hour of playing time.

Church offers free lunch for community
First Presbyterian Church of Marietta is offering a free lunch for the community from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday. There will not be a meal on the fourth Tuesday of the month for December. The church is located on the corner of Wooster and Fourth streets with the entrance off Wooster Street.
Free meal, clothing giveaway Saturday
A Good Samaritan free meal and clothing giveaway will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church, 503 Seventh St., Marietta.
Section of trail will be closed until Friday
The newly constructed section of the Marietta River Trail that runs behind the Waste Water Treatment Plant will be closed during construction of a storm sewer outfall and bank stabilization project beginning today. Work is scheduled to be complete Friday.
