John V. Duff, 90, of Devola, died Sunday (Dec. 29, 2013) at his son's home. He was born April 28, 1923, in Sitka, Ohio, to Richard Henry and Lucy M. Shook Duff.
He was a graduate of Marietta High School. John was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre. He had farmed at Harriettsville and retired from Elkem. John was a 65 year member of Masterson Lodge #429, F&AM and a lifetime member of VFW #5108.
He will be missed by son, Greg; daughter in law, Candy; three granddaughters, Lynn (John) Corpman, Melissa Duff-Lamb and Amanda (Shane) Vaughn; and six great-grandchildren. John is also survived by many friends and would like them to know "well, I finally made it"!
