Emmett Russell Berry Jr., 81, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away Tuesday (Jan. 14, 2014). He was born March 4, 1932, to Emmett R. Berry Sr. and Grace Marie Covey in Marietta.
Emmett was a Master Craftsman, a Certified Welder and Cabinet Builder for Marietta Concrete; a Job Foreman for CE Joy Company and Shop Foreman for Greenbase Company in Marietta; Vice President for Sims Brother Builders in Belpre, Ohio; Job Foreman for Well Supervision Inc and Owner of Tom Stout in New Concord, Ohio; retired Contractor and owner of Berry Trucking and Land Cleaning in Hot Springs, Ark. He was predeceased by his parents; one sister, Joan Berry Emerick; two wifes, Mary Bloomingdale and Betty L. Hart McAfee.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Johnson Berry; sons, Tony (Goldie) Berry of Deltona, Fla., Ted (Sue) Berry of Marietta and Daniel Berry of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Zachary Berry, Ted R. Berry Jr., Amber Berry, Melinda Berry and Darrin Berry; eight great-grandchildren; step children, Jeff Morris, Sharon (Mark) Munson, Kathleen (Karl) Mardick, Jeannie (Mark) Fee; brother, Harley Dean (Barbara) Berry of Marietta.
Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 21 at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m., Monday, and begining at noon on Tuesday. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.lankfordfh.com.
