Readers of The Marietta Times will have even more ways to enjoy the area's most comprehensive report of news and information when the newspaper launches its digital edition on Wednesday.
Subscribers to the print edition, as well as those who choose a new digital-only subscription, will be able to read a digital version of the newspaper directly on their computer, tablet or smartphone, as part of their subscription.
Online readers will be able to enjoy everything The Marietta Times offers in the print edition, from the big stories to advertisements, no matter the location. From Marietta to Los Angeles, you can stay informed about the Washington County area from your porch, vacation, or anywhere in the world where you can log onto our website. The Marietta Times will be delivered to you at the speed of light.
For the first time, the website and the digital edition will include everything that's part of the print edition. It will look like a newspaper, page by page, and subscribers can even choose an option to have the stories read to them, with an automated voice.
MariettaTimes.com will continue to offer subscribers the latest news and information about the area as well as a digital archive dating back to 2008. Non-subscribers will be able to view the beginning of each story. The existing apps for the iPhone and Android devices will offer readers top headlines from the newspaper.
Users can download the new apps from their app store and can subscribe to either the app or the app+newspaper bundle from the website.
"We are thrilled to offer an additional way for readers to enjoy The Marietta Times," said Publisher Jennifer Houtman. "The new feature allows readers to take advantage of evolving technologies to enjoy the complete newspaper experience regardless of their locations."
An information page explaining digital options will be available at www.mariettatimes.com on Wednesday.
