Mariettans traded their Easter bonnets for warmer clothing when two inches of snow blanketed the area and temperatures dropped to a low of 18 degrees. More than nine inches of snow hit other sections of the Midwest.
100 years ago
After years of untiring effort by the citizens of Marietta, a $30,000 armory building was approved by the state armory board. Plans will be drawn within the next 30 days, and construction should be underway within 60 days. The building will be under roof by late fall.
