Kathleen Slivka, 83, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Morgan County, died Saturday (April 5, 2014) at Lincoln Lodge Retirement in Columbus.
She was born June 26, 1930, in Morgan County, daughter of Charles and Minta Sparks Porter. She graduated from M&M High School in 1948 and had worked at Cleveland Graphite Bronze in McConnelsville for 20 years. She was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Nellysville for over 50 years. She was one of the founding members of the CCL Mothers Club.
She was married June 12, 1948 to Joseph Slivka, who died July 8, 1998. She is survived by a daughter, Karen Myers of Cincinnati, Ohio; two grandchildren, Ashlee Mischler and husband Tim of Dayton, Ohio, and Christopher Myers of Florida; two great-grandchildren, Colton and Rylee; a sister, Edith Patterson of Grove City, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; grandson, Timothy Myers; son-in-law, Stanley Myers; five brothers, Charles, Richard, Arthur, Clayton and Donald Porter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Pastor Walter Jones officiating. Burial will be in the St. Bernard Cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today.
