Marietta chamber nearing its 100th anniversary

April 12, 2014
The Marietta Times

Supporting, promoting and advocating for the local business community has long been the mission of the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC). Founded on April 30, 1887 as the Marietta and Harmar Board of Trade, the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce is one of the oldest chambers in the country. The Board of Trade became the Chamber of Commerce in 1915. First located in the former city street lighting plant (now the home of the Plumbers and Pipefitters) on the corner of Front and Butler streets, today the MACC office is located in The Riverview Building overlooking the Ohio River.
