Officers checked on a report Thursday of a man smoking marijuana in a vehicle in the parking lot at 729 Glendale Road. The vehicle was gone on officer's arrival.

Officers investigated an assault Thursday on two Marietta Fire Department rescue squad members at the McDonalds inside Walmart. An adult male who had fallen and was knocked unconscious came to and started punching and scratching the squad members.
A 34-year-old Belpre resident reported Thursday her 14-year-old son did not return home before his 9 p.m. curfew on Tuesday and he had yet to return home. The teenager phoned his mother later in the day and came home that night.
Rose M. Warden, 59, of 2738 Barnett Ridge Road, Fleming, reported Thursday that sometime overnight an unknown suspect threw a rock through the left taillight of her Mazda 6 station wagon.
Peggy M. Vess, 60, of 1605 Germantown Road, Whipple, reported Thursday she was away from her residence between 6:40 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and during that period an unknown suspect(s) entered her home and stole $35 in change, a jigsaw and several gold necklaces.
A deputy requested summonses Thursday for Richard A. Finley, 52, of 680 Main St. Apt. B, Waterford, and his wife, Jacqueline, 42, for disorderly conduct. Both parties appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and admitted being involved in an argument over division of their property.
Michael J. Pryor, 36, of 120 Mitchell Drive, Newport, reported Wednesday that he has not seen or heard from his son, Corey, 20, since the morning of April 4.
A 20-year-old New Matamoras resident reported Wednesday that he received a number of threatening text messages that were accompanied by gruesome photos that were intended to be threatening. The victim said he was not threatened by the messages and stated he only wanted the 16-year-old suspect to be counseled about his behavior.
William A. Collins, 65, of 49995 State Route 7, New Matamoras, reported Wednesday that at some point during the past week an unknown suspect(s) stole an air compressor, valued at $350, from his unattached garage.
A deputy and the Grandview, Little Muskingum and Newport fire departments responded Wednesday to a brush fire around the 18500 block of County Road 9 in Grandview Township. Workers tending a well in the area noticed the fire appeared near an AEP pole approximately 100 yards from the roadway in a wooded area. No property was damaged.
Eddie M. Houseworth Jr., 45, of 5805 Millers Run Fallen Timber, Lucasville, was arrested Wednesday for .08 breath OVI, speeding, operating a vehicle without a license and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel. Houseworth was stopped near Blue Knob Road on Ohio 7 while traveling well above the speed limit and repeatedly crossing the center line. Houseworth performed poorly on a series of field sobriety tests. At the Washington County Jail, Houseworth tested .106 percent blood alcohol content.

Twila J. Martin, 39, of 101 Del Ray Court, Marietta, was arrested Thursday for breach of recognizance, a misdemeanor.
Gene D. Craig, 41, of 213 1/2 Elm St., Marietta, was arrested Friday for nonsupport of dependents, a misdemeanor.
James D. Whitfield, 20, of 1905 Oak St., Parkersburg, was arrested Wednesday for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor.
Danielle N. Oliver, 23, of 240 Francis Road, Lowell, was arrested Wednesday for driving under a suspended license and for not wearing a seat belt, both misdemeanors.
Tramaine L. Coleman, 35, of 1206 Barton Place, Canton, for possession of drugs, a felony. Coleman was picked up at the Stark County Jail and processed into the Washington County Jail Wednesday.
