The Washington County courthouse clock and all clocks in county offices will remain on Eastern Standard Time while Marietta goes on Daylight Savings Time. A western Washington County taxpayer has threatened a lawsuit if county clocks are moved ahead for "fast time." Commissioners are forced to comply with the order, as current Ohio law requires clocks in public buildings to be kept at standard time. Marietta city councilmen have already approved the switch to DST by passing a city ordinance.
The River Gas Company is moving to its new building at 324 Fourth St. Office hours will be from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.
