MACTA is ramping up its adult tennis season and is looking for new players. Those new to the game or returning to the game are welcome to join us.
MACTA offers free tennis Lesson
The Marietta Area Community Tennis Association (MACTA) is gearing up for adult tennis season. This summer MACTA will be offering tennis lessons throughout the summer for adults at any skill level or age on Saturday mornings at 9:30 at Lookout Park tennis courts.
The lesson on Saturday, June 7, will be complimentary. This is the perfect opportunity for those who want to get back to the game after being away from it for a while, or for those who have never played but would like to give the sport a try. Show up in comfortable workout clothing and tennis shoes and bring something to drink. Loaner racquets are available for those who do not have one. The only expectation is to give it a try and to have fun.
Those who want to continue the Saturday morning lessons may join MACTA whose goal it is to promote the sport of tennis in our area. With a membership, members may participate in the lessons, join a league, or play pick-up singles or doubles, as well as other MACTA events. Through a membership, players will be put in touch with other tennis players of their skill level.
Tennis is a lifetime sport that helps improve aerobic fitness levels, increase speed and agility, develop strength and flexibility, and refine eye-hand coordination. It also provides opportunities to enjoy exercise and meet new friends. MACTA players range in age from early twenties through late sixties.
The lessons will last an hour, with time afterward for playing tennis. To confirm a spot in the complimentary lesson offered on June 7, or for information on joining MACTA, call Judy (740) 706-0483.
