Donna Henthorn Pinkerton Moon died peacefully at her home in Harvest, Ala., on May 25, 2014, after a long illness.
She was born in Parkersburg, on Aug. 26, 1951. She graduated from Morgan County High School in 1970, however, she attended the Belpre City School System for most of her education. Her career included maintaining a home, farming and selling real estate with Strahler & Associates Realty, where she earned honors for top performance in sales.
Donna is survived by her husband, Larry Moon of Harvest, Ala.; her children, John David Pinkerton (Joanna) of Circleville, Ohio, Jennifer Pinkerton Simon (David) of Athens, Ohio, and step-children, Melissa (Timothy) Moon Magro of Loudon, Tenn., and Kayla Moon of Loudon, Tenn.; her sisters, Diana (Larry) Cain, Gloria (Robert) Kinney, Tina (Steve) Smith, Linda (Tim) Hammond and Tammy (David) Kline; brother, Doug (Sandy) Henthorn; grandchildren, Colton and Grant Pinkerton; and several loving nieces and nephews. A very special caregiver, friend and sister-in-law, Kathy Beeken of Cumming, Ga., also survives her. She joins her parents, Eugene and Ruby Henthorn; her former husband, John Pinkerton; son, David Pinkerton; brother, Shawn Riffle; and all of her grandparents in Heaven.
Beautiful inside and out, Donna never knew a stranger. She always smiled with a highly contagious laughter. A friend as problems quickly became her own as she helped them overcome whatever they faced. Her thoughtful demeanor and quick wit made being around her a lot of fun.
A celebration of her life is planned for 11:30 a.m., Thursday, July 5, in Civitan Park, Shelter House #2, off Washington Street in Belpre, Ohio. Please bring lawn chairs.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of North Alabama, 3311 Bob Wallace Ave, Suite 101, Huntsville, Ala. 35805.
