Culvert replacement in Muskingum Twp.
Muskingum Township will be replacing a culvert on Howard Street in Oak Grove Friday, with weather permitting. The road will be closed at 9 a.m. Water service could be affected for residents on Howard, Grayling, Twila Court and parts of Waterford Road and Oak Grove Lane. A 24-hour boil is advised.

Benefit will help with medical expenses
A benefit will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Cutler Community Center, 4550 Two Mile Run Road. The proceeds will help Jessica Carter Crabtree with ongoing medical expenses. There will be a bake sale, raffle and country store. Food available for purchase will include soup beans and cornbread, sloppy joes, hot dogs, cakes, pies and cookies. The event is sponsored by Freedom Missionary Baptist Mission.

Cheer, dance teams will hold tourney
The Buckeye All-Stars Cheer and Dance teams will hold a boys baseball tournament for ages 7-8 and 9-10 July 10 through July 13 at Buell Island in Lowell. The entry fee is $100 per team. For questions and to register call Karri at 516-1578.
Benefit concert for boy with leukemia
A benefit concert for Toby Bigelow featuring Anthony Mossburg will be held at 7 p.m. July 12 at the Frontier High School football field. The cost is $10 per person. There will be concessions. Seating is limited so bringing a chair or blanket is advised. Toby is an 8-year-old Newport resident battling ALL (Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia).
Fishing program at Belpre Civitan Park
The Washington SWCD and the Ohio Division of Wildlife are teaming up to hold a Passport to Fishing Event from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Belpre Civitan Park. The Passport to Fishing program is open to anyone 16 and younger interested in learning more about fishing. This program provides skills, techniques and information that allow any beginning angler to start fishing in their own community. The program consists of four stations focusing on hands-on participation and a strong conservation message. There will also be prizes for all participants. The event is free but space is limited so preregistration is required by calling 373-4857.
