Donna Jean (Haas) Williamson is celebrating her 80th birthday. She was born on Aug. 3, 1934, in Stowe, Ohio, to Leona Marie and Norman Glenn Haas. She is the second of five children. She has four brothers, Charles Haas of Caldwell, Gary Haas of Doylestown, Pa., Jim Haas of Lower Salem and Jack Haas of Whipple.
Donna attended school in Lower Salem, played clarinet in the band and graduated in 1954. She married Robert Leon Williamson on April 1, 1956 at the Highland Ridge Church. They lived for a short time in Chesterhill, Ohio, and managed a roller skating rink. Their first child Cheryl Ann was born on April 15, 1958 and was followed by Eva Marie on Dec. 25, 1960, Pamela Lynn on Feb. 27, 1962 and Teresa Sue on June 8, 1968. The family lived in Stanleyville, Ohio where she and her husband were active in the Fearing Township Volunteer Fire Department.
She worked at the BF Goodrich cafeteria and plant in Marietta until she retired. She moved to Belpre in 1998 after the death of her husband, Robert. She lives on Fifth Avenue and attends the Pioneer Presbyterian Church. She was recognized as a volunteer for her service to the Belpre Senior Center where she is an active participant.
To celebrate her 80th birthday, the family has planned an open house on Sunday, Aug. 3 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Belpre Senior Center, 1614 Washington Blvd. Belpre.
