Anthony B. Martin, 28, of 700 Green Hill Road, was stopped by an officer Thursday near the 100 block of East Butler Street for squealing his tires and failure to use a turn signal. Martin leading officers on a vehicle chase through the west side of Marietta and out Ohio 550, which ended with Martin crashing near Michaelis Road. Martin started to run but was tackled by an officer. He was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital for back and facial injuries. Martin was charged with OVI, license suspension, failure to use turn signal, reckless operation and fleeing and eluding.
Travis M. Moore, 28, of 17949 State Route 550, was arrested Thursday at 111 N. Hart St. for disorderly conduct by failure to cease and desist.
Officers investigated a report Thursday of domestic violence at 501 1/2 Warren St. Kellie Lohr advised that her husband, Robert L. Lohr, 23, had assaulted her, causing their 10-month-old child to fall to the floor. Robert Lohr then fled the area. A warrant has been requested for Lohr on charges of domestic violence and child endangerment.
An employee of Lang's Excavating, at 19371 State Route 60, Beverly, reported Thursday that sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) stole in excess of 2,000 gallons of off road diesel fuel from a fuel tank at the company's job site at 37075 Back Road, Macksburg.
Stephanie D. Phelps, 48, of 141 Oakes Road, Little Hocking, reported a salesman that was peddling educational materials Thursday refused to leave her property despite being asked to do so at least a half dozen times. The suspect was warned on previous occasions that he would be charged with trespassing if he did not comply with a homeowner's request to vacate the property.
Carrie L. Thrash, 28, of 107 Seneca Drive, Marietta, reported Thursday that she recently discovered her debit card information was used at two retail stores in the Columbus area to make purchases totaling approximately $450.
Residents on Cave Hill Road, School House Road, and Veto Road reported Thursday that their mailboxes were damaged sometime overnight. More than 12 mailboxes in that area were damaged by vandals after midnight.
Deputies responded Friday to a domestic dispute at 1465 McGill Road, Vincent. Stacy D. Morgan, 40, accidentally phoned 911 during an argument with her estranged husband over their relationship. Morgan dialed 911 on her phone as a threat to stop her husband from throwing her belongings outside. Both parties agreed that no threats or physical violence took place. The case was closed as unfounded.
A deputy and the Grandview Fire Department were dispatched Friday to a vehicle fire at 11 First Ave., New Matamoras. The 2001 Dodge Dakota, owned by Jessica Dunn, 29, of 707 Second St., New Matamoras, sustained heavy damage and is a total loss. The State Fire Marshal was contacted to determine the cause of the fire.
