Arbors at Marietta completes survey
Arbors at Marietta at 400 Seventh St., Marietta, has recently completed its standard survey and was found to be deficiency free. Nursing homes are inspected annually for compliance with state and federal regulations, and the survey process is extremely thorough. A deficiency free survey is earned by a very small percentage of health centers. Ensuring that consistent quality care is received by all residents can be a difficult task. In a complex regulatory environment with incredibly high standards, Arbors at Marietta has shown extraordinary effort to meet and exceed those standards.
"We are very pleased to have passed our recent survey without any deficiencies. Our staff has worked very hard to maintain our high standards and provide quality care to our residents. Each one of us is responsible for contributing to the overall effort of providing excellent customer service and care to our residents, their families and our team members and I am proud to be part of such a successful, dedicated group of employees," said Stephanie Cleland, administrator of Arbors at Marietta.
Real estate tax statements mailed
Real estate tax statements for the last half of 2013 were mailed on June 19 from the office of Dorothy K. Peppel, Washington County treasurer. The last half tax plus delinquencies, if any, are due no later than Aug. 8. Payments can be made at the county treasurer's office on the second floor of the courthouse or they may be mailed. Payments must be in the office or officially postmarked from a post office by Aug. 8. The county treasurer urges anyone who owns property and has not received a tax bill to notify her office. In compliance with state laws - even though a property owner does not receive a statement - a penalty will be charged if taxes are not paid by the due date.
The treasurer's office is aware of the changes of addresses due to house numbering or changed by the post office. Bills could be returned, the only way addresses can be corrected on the bills is if the office is notified. Include those changes when making payments.
The county treasurer's office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and the office phone number is (740) 373-6623, extensions 256, 224 and 225.
Mobile home notice: Mobile home or manufactured home tax statements for the last half of 2014, plus delinquencies, if any, were mailed June 25, 2014, and the due date for payment is Aug. 8. Call the office if a statement hasn't been received.
