Altered fireworks, chickens found in W.Va. crash

AMMA, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia State Police say altered fireworks, weapons, chickens and marijuana were found inside an SUV that wrecked on Interstate 79, and the driver from Pennsylvania has been arrested.

Spokesman Lt. Michael Baylous says the Ford Explorer was the only vehicle involved in the crash at 3:30 a.m. Friday that closed Interstate 79 in both directions near Amma in Roane County for more than four hours.

A criminal complaint in Roane County Magistrate Court says 21-year-old Seth Grim of Emmaus, Pennsylvania, is charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. Baylous says other charges are pending.

Baylous said he didn't know how the fireworks were altered, how many weapons were found in the vehicle or their type.

Grim is being held in the South Central Regional Jail.
