"Union fat-cats...myth or reality?"

So...you think labor unions are run by cigar chomping "Union Fat Cats", who receive outrageous salaries and benefits, while living a life of luxury comparable to Saudi Arabian Princes, lording their unrestrained power over the entire United States of America... all on the backs of the union-enslaved workers they represent. Here's your chance to prove it.

"Didn't send anyone to a 5 start generals"

I believe he did. I hope we are talking about the same general. I'm referring to the one that died recently.

"you attempted to tie opposition to Obama as race driven"

My gosh you have an odd way of looking at things. It's really an "all or nothing" mentality with you isn't it?

Unlike you, I believe some people feel one way and others of that same group can feel differently but the results are still the same.

So yes, there are some Dems that did not vote for Obama because of race. There are Dems that did not vote for him because of his policies.

I would also suggest that we keep in mind that being a Dem does not equal being politically liberal on all things.

I think it's safe to say that WV is mostly moderate to conservative socially but have traditionally voted Dem for reasons like Unions and such.

You seem angry Tired.

While I am not saying that some voters did not vote for Obama for racial reasons, you cannot prove that was the main reason.

It could be that Obama seemed to be wildly liberal and that could be why the overall WV population did not vote for him. It might have very little to do with race but we simply do not know.

"Wouldn't you call those WV Dems RACISTS"

If not voting for him equals racism..then more Republicans are racist than Dems right? You need to try and stop and think before going into your twitteresque comments.

"Wv turns red thanks to Obama"

If the information I found is sound, WV is dominated still by Dems.

612,000 are Dems

353,000 are Republicans

Simply voting for a Republican in a few Presidential elections does not make a state Red.

The WV House of Reps and Senate have a Democrat majority.

BobBarker...your response to the subaru story i posted spoke wonders as to the mental state of the hyper-dedicated union devotee. they lost the bid...get over it. sore losers and terrible representatives for the professionals they claim to promote. tsk, tsk, tsk. you personally should be ashamed of yourself for the promotion of punishment against an american company in exercising their right to free choice in whom they write contracts with for service. in this day and time, that sort of under-handed thug-like intimidation won't work.

dispute" written in the corner of the union sign and fact that the fonts don't quite match, the two banners are nearly identical. Read as one, they are also hilarious -- to anyone who has a beef with unions, that is: "Shame on Subaru of Wichita for having unbeatable prices". thanks unions..."out of adversity comes opportunity". 8-)

BobBarker...YAWN. but here's some more union bull squat..... "Subaru of Wichita recently launched a $1.5 million renovation of a former Suzuki outlet, converting it to a Subaru showroom. Subaru of Wichita hired a range of local contractors for the upgrade, including a firm called Hi-Tech Interiors, which carried out some drywall installation. The problem is, Hi-Tech Interiors is a non-union shop, a fact that didn't sit well with the United Brotherhood Of Carpenters And Joiners Of America Local 201. And so, the union took to the streets -- or, more precisely, the right of way directly in front of the dealership. Members unfurled a large banner that reads, in big, red letters, "Shame on Subaru of Wichita". In return, the dealership's director of marketing, Aaron Wirtz, did what any bright, grammatically oriented person would do in that situation: he finished the sentence with a sign that reads, "for having unbeatable prices". Apart from the words "labor dis

Unions have had a good effect on this nations work force but they also come with a whole list of negatives.

Inflexibility of the workforce.

Strikes that turn violent. Seen that stuff first hand.

Self serving union bigwigs whose business is increasing the amount of workers under the union umbrella so that more money can be brought in for Union "use".

Just to name a few.

I wonder when the plutocrats in this country will realize that the non one percenters who make up the vast majority of this nation are the most important part of this nation's economic engine?

The less the majority can purchase the worse off our economy will be.

"When employers in this country say labor costs are too high, what they're really saying to you is, you have it too good. What they're really saying to you is, all you need is enough to get you into the plant and work."

Yep this. I don't carry any doubts that what people are required to be paid minimally wouldn't be paid if companies weren't forced to pay a worker the minimum amount.
