"Union fat-cats...myth or reality?"

So...you think labor unions are run by cigar chomping "Union Fat Cats", who receive outrageous salaries and benefits, while living a life of luxury comparable to Saudi Arabian Princes, lording their unrestrained power over the entire United States of America... all on the backs of the union-enslaved workers they represent. Here's your chance to prove it.

On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Count unanimously ruled in favor of United States Steel Corp., finding the Pittsburgh-based steelmaker does not have to pay unionized steel workers for the time spent "donning and doffing" safety gear before and after their shifts.

Pay to change your clothes.. go figure

Look up the past history of the UAW at the Lordstown plant of GM.

Thugs at work my friend.

It might be better now, but it was a union made*****hole years past. The plant was almost shut down due to union antics.

Additionally, I expressed, based on first hand experience, disappointment that labor leaders seem more interested in their own power than the rank and file.

I also suggested that unions dont OWN any particular jobs. They should compete and if, as you claim, they do it better they win the work.

I did not advocate for the banning of unions all I suggested was the portion of dues monies spent on political action should be directed by the MEMBER, not the BA or international etc. What's wrong with that?

N it sure what that has to do with anything, why would the Afl-Cio support a president and party that is killing UMW jobs?

Should a Pipefitter and a bagger at Walmart really be in the same union?

Unions needs to support workplace rules that allow better workers to get better pay. This stuff about all the brotherhood making the same cash is BS.

Also, Obamacare has removed the need for Unions to negotiate heeath care benefits.

Don't hate unions, I have respect for the men and women on the line. I hate corrupt union bosses who are only interested in their own power and influence. AFLCIO supports Obama, Obama destroying UNION jobs in the coal fields.

Unions should compete and not try to control the work..Right to work is a good thing, and if Union trades are superior they will win in a fair market.

Unions resist the exemption of Union dues for political action, that's wrong. Union member should be able to control where their dues go if spent politically. Whats wrong with that?

Been on both sides of that fence. Was a steward in a Union, now working non union. Biggest problem with Unions IMO, they take your money and buy themselves power in Washington. As a Union member I did not support NAFTA but we gave big donations to Clinton who signed it. I work with folks in the trades every day and I can tell you that although most are DEMS, most don't support the hard left that seems to be the Democrat party these days, but sadly their dollars do.

There are many problems with unions. just a couple: First , Unions limit the amount a union member can earn.

Second, the worst worker and the best worker make the same money.
