Daily breaking news and news the liberal media doesn't want you to know, won't report, or just daily news issues.

Americans for many years have had to rely on left leaning biased news reporting from liberal media such as NBC, ABC, and CBS and the New York Times. As most of these outlets struggle to remain on the air and in print, the new media is flourishing and people are hearing both sides of the issues. This forum will provide people with a place to discuss daily news issues of any kind or discuss articles not printed or aired by the liberal news outlets.

Senator Roderick Wright of Los Angeles was convicted in January of lying about whether he lived in the district he sought to represent, the first in a string of criminal proceedings against three state senators this year that effectively cost Democrats their two-thirds majority in the California Senate. “This is not what I call a victimless crime,” said Judge Kathleen Kennedy, who denied Wright’s request for a new trial in Los Angeles Superior Court. She said Wright was no longer eligible to hold elective office in California. Wright is one of several Democrats in the Golden State to face serious criminal charges. Senator Leland Yee was suspended after his indictment on racketeering, wire fraud, and conspiracy charges and Democrat Ron Calderon is fighting a litany of charges, including two dozen counts of bribery and fraud.

Never thought that being "laid back" would be a bad thing in a rational debate.

Well were even. You tend to be too laid back online.

And you tend to scream online, thus proving my point.

I AM a TEA Partier... Whats wrong with THAT ?

Screaming is not needed in rational debate. If you want screaming, I'd suggest hanging out with Tea Partiers, Code Pink people or even the South Korean Legislature.....they all know how to scream. I doubt you would think they are rational people though.

Besides, it's common courtesy not to talk with all caps on.

DOES THAT BOTHER YOU ??? I aint screaming. Just making a point. But MORE people SHOULD be SCREAMING !!

Kendall78

Greek, do you have to scream. Caps lock off please.

And what you call splitting hairs is what most people call telling the facts. For some reason the irrational Obama haters don't like facts.

I think there is a problem of whens here.

Who added more people to the food stamp program during their presidency? Currently it would be Bush.

During which presidency has the most people been on food stamps...that would be Obama.

When people are saying more people are on food stamps now than ever before, they are not implying the cumulative aspect of that statement.

" The most recent figures from the Department of Agriculture put the number receiving benefits at 46.1 million as of March 2014. That’s down from the nearly 47.8 million who were getting benefits in December 2012.."

same site: now more people have been added to the food-stamp rolls under Obama than under any single previous president. (April 2013).

“fewer beneficiaries have been added under Obama than were added under George W. Bush”. That seems to be true but shouldn’t the goal be to get people off of gov’t programs not trying to maintain record levels as is happening now?

"The number of food-stamp recipients has retreated from the record high of 2012; fewer beneficiaries have been added under Obama than were added under George W. Bush."

I went to factcheck**** and this is what I found: ?The number of low-income persons on food stamps remains just below the record level reached in 2012, with 15 percent of the population still getting benefits. Despite the improved economy, the number of people receiving food-stamp assistance has continued to grow, and now more people have been added to the food-stamp rolls under Obama than under any single previous president. (April 2013). The January 2014 report on that same site says the number of low-income persons on food stamps remains just below the record level reached in 2012, with 15 percent of the population still getting benefits.

Actually food-stamp recipients have went down since 2012. Also, "fewer beneficiaries have been added under Obama than were added under George W. Bush." (factcheck.o r g)

Is the levels still high? Yes they are but are they are the worst period? Nope.

The federal government is continuing to dole out billions of dollars to people who shouldn't get them. A government watchdog agency said an estimated $106 billion in payments were made in error last year: meaning they were the wrong amount, went to the wrong person or lacked sufficient documentation. These payments include tax refunds, unemployment benefits, Social Security benefits, and Medicare and Medicaid coverage. The improper payments could be even higher since not all agencies reported to the Government Accountability Office. The White House acknowledged that "the loss to the Federal Government is significant," but it pointed to a declining overall error rate: Just 3.5% from 5% in 2009.
