Daily breaking news and news the liberal media doesn't want you to know, won't report, or just daily news issues.

Americans for many years have had to rely on left leaning biased news reporting from liberal media such as NBC, ABC, and CBS and the New York Times. As most of these outlets struggle to remain on the air and in print, the new media is flourishing and people are hearing both sides of the issues. This forum will provide people with a place to discuss daily news issues of any kind or discuss articles not printed or aired by the liberal news outlets.

Whoops. Forgive me oh perfect one. It IS just a blog. Not a federal report !! I also said that I know very few of the retirees, from this POWER plant that burns coal, that have died from these diseases that the treehuggers are running commercials saying coal emissions are killing.

asknot...i have seen a few in his posts as well as mine. he left out the word "fired" and you took him to task for that. anyway, enjoy y'alls discussion. i think i am going to get back to the olympics. i watched the womens luge, ski jumps and curling competitions this morning and this afternoon. the curling matches was a real nail-biter. two of those great britain girls were kind of cute. anyway...sorry for the intrusion. GO U.S.A.!!!!

greek the cooling towers i am used to are used to cool large buildings. i assume they are like any other heat exchanger and can be used for different applications. frankly, i like the use of waste heat boilers when there is an appreciable amount of btu's available. if steam is used then some form of condenser would be needed to convert the spent steam back into condensate to continue the cycle.

How many power plants in the area? How many have cooling towers? No not all of them have a tower. Some draw cooling water from rivers or lakes.

Do you guys just scan my posts or do you actually read and digest them. I specifically said coal fired power plant... Does that need anymore explaining ?? Stokers have been gone for 100 years as far as I know of. Are you the same group that thinks a cooling tower is a nuclear plant??? Is Willow island a nuclear plant to you all??

thegreek: If expert opinion depends on years of experience, I've worked in a direct association with the coal/gas power generation industry for 40 years, and my opinion is diametrically opposed to yours. Does that make my observations indisputable?
