What happened to the "Union Influence in Politics" topic?

Even though I initiated it as the debut topic in the Times forums, I'm happy to realize it has been deleted. It died an ugly death long ago, and should have been executed long before it was. I'm curious though... Why? I am unaware of the travesty that occurred that was sufficiently heinous to warrant it's deletion... As compared to the tripe on ALL the other threads that is evident on a daily basis.

Still friendlier than anti-worker republicans !

Kunectdots

Bill Clinton s-ucked up to union buster (Ravenswood Aluminum) Marc Rich, giving him a 11 o'clock pardon in exchange for a saxophone (Eric Holder figured in prominently on that one). Hillary sat, without exception to, the antiunion discussions of Walmart when she served as an honoray Board of Directors member.

SOME real friends of the working class there.

Obama named Jeff Immelt, CEO of one of America's largest exporters of America's jobs to China and India, to head his Jobs Creation Council.

You really couldn't write this stuff!

Greed is what caused these problems with all union benefits ! Ronald Reagun is the one responsible !He made it possible for Admin people to shirk their responsibilities to pensions and when they got behind they tried to make it up in the stock market and lost ! After all it wasn't their money they were losing ! Take a wider look sometime , maybe you'll learn something !

We can't have a discussion if you don't know the difference between Private sector unions and public unions.

Do a WIKI search, that might help you out.

The public car unions are finally giving concessions which allow the carmakers to stay in business.

Walker was after the public unions, the same ones that Bankrupt Detroit.

Pay attention.

Yeah , the car makers all went under the second unions were organized 50 years ago ! Just how stupid are you ?

End public-sector employee unions. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker eliminated dues-withholding for public employee unions in his state. The unions were so angry that they organized a recall campaign against him. They lost. They then tried to recall a Wisconsin Supreme Court justice who upheld his action. They lost. They then tried to beat Walker in last week's election. They lost again.

Look what the unions did to Detroit.

BobBarker...your response to the subaru story i posted spoke wonders as to the mental state of the hyper-dedicated union devotee. they lost the bid...get over i. sore losers and terrible representatives for the professionals they claim to promote. tsk, tsk, tsk. you personally should be ashamed of yourself for the promotion of punishment against an american company in exercising their right to free choice in whom they write contracts with for service. in this day and time, that sort of under-handed thug-like intimidation won't work.

dispute" written in the corner of the union sign and fact that the fonts don't quite match, the two banners are nearly identical. Read as one, they are also hilarious -- to anyone who has a beef with unions, that is: "Shame on Subaru of Wichita for having unbeatable prices". thanks unions..."out of adversity comes opportunity". 8-)

BobBarker...YAWN. but here's some more union bull squat..... "Subaru of Wichita recently launched a $1.5 million renovation of a former Suzuki outlet, converting it to a Subaru showroom. Subaru of Wichita hired a range of local contractors for the upgrade, including a firm called Hi-Tech Interiors, which carried out some drywall installation. The problem is, Hi-Tech Interiors is a non-union shop, a fact that didn't sit well with the United Brotherhood Of Carpenters And Joiners Of America Local 201. And so, the union took to the streets -- or, more precisely, the right of way directly in front of the dealership. Members unfurled a large banner that reads, in big, red letters, "Shame on Subaru of Wichita". In return, the dealership's director of marketing, Aaron Wirtz, did what any bright, grammatically oriented person would do in that situation: he finished the sentence with a sign that reads, "for having unbeatable prices". Apart from the words "labor

I am a past USW member, have family in IBEW, PPF/UA, UAW, now one can complain about bosses all they want, but what about those wall street fund managers that make far more, handling union pension fund investments?
