What happened to the "Union Influence in Politics" topic?

Even though I initiated it as the debut topic in the Times forums, I'm happy to realize it has been deleted. It died an ugly death long ago, and should have been executed long before it was. I'm curious though... Why? I am unaware of the travesty that occurred that was sufficiently heinous to warrant it's deletion... As compared to the tripe on ALL the other threads that is evident on a daily basis.

So if everyone gets to choose then anyone can opt out of a being represented by the union right?

Again, if a group of people chose to work in a non union shop should anyone be allowed to try to vote a union in? Since they chose to work in a non union shop?

Sorry to shoot your republican crappola to shreds ! But fact is everyone would get to choose , either work union or not , but they have a choice !

So if people work in a non union shop, no one should ever be allowed to start a union by your logic

Ohwiseone

And "people" like the tiredbrain troll wont admit that there is always a choice ! Folks can either choose to work at a union shop or not , so in fact what they promote is nothing but a lie ! Surprise, surprise , considering the source !

An awful lotta worry over 13% of the workforce ! Sound a lot like the republiduds want a war on unions ! Want to hear something really stupid ? How about a anti-union shop steward !

Valveguy you won't get a straight answer, fact is those who want to be in a union should be allowed to at any time, however those that don't should never be forced to. If a shop is non Union shouldn't those that want to organize quit? That's what they say for those in a union shop who want to opt out right? I bet there is a double standard applied

OWO: why would you support the elimination private ballot voting for Union Recognition Votes? Why in the world you do you think Card Check is a good idea vs. a fair vote using private Ballot?

Group intimidation is a reality anytime it can be used unchecked.(pardon the pun)

Oh here we go with that stale ole lie ! Only a liar wouldn't know Where its local is and there is no IAM local anywhere near here !

BERIGHT Unions also resist private ballots as they deny the ablilty to intimidate and bully. Sorta anti American don't ya think?

Union Trademarks!

OWO: This is what unions want: They want the so-called Employee Free Choice Act, aka “Card Check”, which would take away numerous rights and protections currently afforded to workers employed at companies where unions are actively seeking to organize. The bill would remove workers’ rights to a federally supervised private ballot election. Instead, workers would be asked to sign cards in front of organizers and colleagues, potentially subjecting them to harassment or intimidation. Once a majority of employees have signed cards, the union is immediately recognized.

Please note the part about "would take away numerous rights and protections currently afforded to workers "
