What happened to the "Union Influence in Politics" topic?

Even though I initiated it as the debut topic in the Times forums, I'm happy to realize it has been deleted. It died an ugly death long ago, and should have been executed long before it was. I'm curious though... Why? I am unaware of the travesty that occurred that was sufficiently heinous to warrant it's deletion... As compared to the tripe on ALL the other threads that is evident on a daily basis.

“In strike after strike, the unions have sacrificed and bartered away the workers’ interests in exchange for such things as the “union shop” and the dues “checkoff” that practically make the capitalist employer a union official and dues collector. And they seal these deals with labor contracts that tie workers’ hands and that capitalists often break.”

Heres an example that's not from some right-wing garbage website !The international president of the UAW makes just one hundred and fifty-three thousand, two hundred and forty-eight dollars and twenty-nine cents ($153,248.29) per annum. And that's one of the bigger unions ! A long way from a half a mil !we are ohio .co m

Apples to oranges ! And still , What the ever ignorant wrongriki doesn't say is officers in international unions represent thousands of members . In order to do their job well they must be equipped with the knowledge to negotiate for the body of the union ! I don't know about the Know Nothing Expert but I prefer to have a person working on my behalf that is respected and knows what their doing ! I suppose wrongriki would like to have the janitor negotiate for it ! When compared to the pay of CEO's of even small companies the officals are underpaid !

Wrongriki , you are all that is wrong with things like these forums with your constant barrage of right -wing propaganda and bullsh^t ! Then complaining that your being picked on when all you post is debunked and refuted ! Since you insist on being the victim you should look that up on your right-wing websites !!When you persist in this mis-guided strategy of victimhood you should at least see if you qualify for a mental disability !!

“Union bosses talk a good “wealth redistribution” game, but they don’t practice what they preach.”

“They’re like the pigs that took over the farmer’s house in George Orwell’s “Animal Farm.” Remember, they led the “socialist” revolution to overthrow the evil farmer, then moved into his house, started wearing his clothes and started acting just like the evil farmer did.”

“Another symptom is telling the same stories or asking the same questions over and over, with no recollection that the questions have just been asked and answered. In conversation they may repeat the same piece of information 20 times, remaining wholly unaware that they are repeating the same thing in absolutely stereotyped expression.”

“Ohio AFL-CIO warned that workplace freedom “would give corporate special interests even more power to outsource jobs, force workers to work longer hours or put them on part-time to avoid having to pay benefits and strip the voice away from workers on issues such as safety and whistle blowing.” ”

“For readers keeping score, that’s five flagrant lies in a single sentence. Workplace freedom lets workers opt out of paying union bosses – period.”
